Japanese Skew Chisel - Suminagashi [Preowned, SOLD]

36mm wide red oak handled unused Suminagashi chisel which for some reason has been expertly skewed along its 36mm blade edge.

So this is now a laminated steel 36mm wide skew chisel. Triple fluted hollows.

Little or very little use.

The skew is right to left (high to low) when looking down the handle.

The handle has also had a flat introduced into the handle so that the blade lies totally flat when resting.

The angle of skew is about 6 degrees.

Option 1 may be to leave as is if you have a use for this skew.

Option 2 may be to return it to square which will require some time and patience and someone who enjoys such work.

The chisel in its normal form retails for about £210 so it may well be worth the effort and time to get it back to square.

Approximately 50mm of usable blade would remain should this be done.

The sale price reflects the work required to get this to sqaure.
