Catapu, the 25,000 hectare forestry concession and sawmill belonging to Dalmann Mozambique

Catapu is the name of the forestry concession belonging to TCT Dalmann, located in Sofala Province, central Mozambique.

The concession is 25,000 hectares, divided by the National Highway Nr 1, 32 km south of the town of Caia located on the Zambezi River.

The TCT Dalmann philosophy has been different from its inception, the focus has always been on the sustainable and responsible management of the concession and use of the resources.

To achieve this goal, TCT Dalmann has a wide and diversified list of activities and products. These include planks and flooring, turning blanks and squares, furniture and furnishings, tourism, game farming and beekeeping.

TCT Dalmann subscribes to a policy of planting 4 new indigenous hardwood saplings for every tree harvested.

This policy means the company plants between 8,000 and 17,000 trees per annum depending on the rainfall and weather patterns.
