Product Description
From the "Professional" range of Henry Taylor carving tools. These gouges have a 4¾" (120mm) blade with a ground inner surface and a charcoal black non-reflective finish on the outer surface. Fitted with an octagonal beech handle and brass ferrules. These tools widen progressively from the bolster. This helps with visibility around the tool and reduces the chances of damaging the foreground. Very popular for letter carving.

"Great wood carving tool, hold the edge very well. Is just to lower a bit the cutting angle if used on soft wood (basswood etc.), while for hard wood Is ok. Overall a great tool, with a good Sheffield steel, not too thin or too thick, very well balanced. Not happy that Taylor has discontinued Wood Carving Tool production..."
