Woodpeckers Precision Woodworking Squares
Product Description
Woodpeckers Precision Woodworking Squares with Rack-It
Success in the workshop depends on the care you put into machinery set up, the accuracy of your layout work and consistently checking your work during assembly. All three jobs call for an accurate, well made square, and here are two perfectly suited to each of those jobs. Woodpeckers 641 and 851 Precision Woodworking Squares have unique design features, are built with optimal materials, and undergo rigorous quality control. Once they’re in your shop, you’ll work faster; with more confidence in your results.
What sets Woodpeckers squares above the rest is their one-piece central core design. Rather than a blade attached to a beam, as you will find in most try-squares of this size, the 641 and 851 have one piece of tool plate aluminium meticulously machined into a square. Then cheeks are added to the central core with stainless steel location pins. The cheeks are 1/4'' (6mm) narrower than the central core, forming a shoulder which allows the square to rest on the edge of a board without you holding on.
The scales on the 641 and 851 are laser engraved to a tolerance of .004'' (.101mm) total accumulated error over the length of the blade. The outside scale is ideal for setting tooling heights. The inside scale gives you a perfect zero reference from the edge of your stock.
These squares are ideally sized for furniture and cabinet work. Keep the 641 in your tool belt or shop apron and you’ll have guaranteed accuracy right at hand, all the time. The 851 gives you a slightly larger reference that’s perfect for checking assemblies and doing layout work at your bench.
Woodpeckers guarantee their squares to ±0.0085° for the life of the tool.
