Product Description

What sets Woodpeckers squares above the rest is their one-piece central core design. Rather than a blade attached to a beam, as you will find in most try-squares of this size, the 851 has one piece of tool plate aluminium meticulously machined into a square. Then cheeks are added to the central core with stainless steel location pins. The cheeks are 1/4'' (6mm) narrower than the central core, forming a shoulder which allows the square to rest on the edge of a board without you holding on.

The scales on the 851 are laser engraved to a tolerance of .004'' (0.101mm) total accumulated error over the length of the blade. The outside scale is ideal for setting tooling heights. The inside scale gives you a perfect zero reference from the edge of your stock.
