Lie-Nielsen No.62 Low Angle Jack Plane
Product Description
The Lie-Nielsen No.62 Low Angle Jack Plane. What is not to like? You take the most popular and useful jack plane and bed it at a low angle (12°). This makes the most versatile group of planes even more versatile.
Comes with a 2" (50mm) wide A2 steel blade which is .175" (4.5mm) thick. From the box it has a 25° bevel, but it is worth sticking a secondary bevel of 5° on it if working in hardwoods.
One of the factors in making this plane so versatile is that Lie-Nielsen produce a toothed blade for heavy stock removal in difficult grain and a 90° blade for scraping. You can also purchase spare blades to experiment with higher angles if you are battling with some particularly tricky grain.
This is not something new, Stanley produced them many years ago, but this is made by Lie-Nielsen, to Lie-Nielsen standards. If you are only going to own one plane, make this it.

- 2" (50mm) blade bedded at 12°. A2 steel.
