So, this is a user grade plane, the sole of the plane is good.

The plane is fitted with a 50 degree frog but is also supplied with the standard 45 degree frog should you wish to swap back.

The Lie-Nielsen No.5 1/2 Jack Plane is probably the most popular bench plane, and the one that many woodwork teachers recommend starting out with due to its versatility.

The equivalent of a later Stanley Bedrock No.605 1/2.
