Product Description

This is a commission sale and in his notes our customer has advised that this plane has had very little use at all. Well, as the plane is still in its undisturbed paper wrapping within its blue sealed bag and original box, we respectfully disagree. This plane has yet to see the light of day and it is unused!

Also comes with an unused toothing plane blade (Toothed blades have small chisel-like teeth .030'' (.762mm) wide, and spaced .030'' apart. They are used for heavy stock removal in difficult grain.
* 2'' wide x .175'' thick
* A2 cryogenically treated Tool Steel

Please Note: Toothed blades are great for quick, heavy stock removal. However, something like a knot in pine can break the teeth so be careful around difficult spots. We recommend that you hone your toothed blade with a secondary bevel of 30 degrees or higher depending on the type of wood you are planing.)

This is what we say about the plane on our main site:

''The Lie-Nielsen No.62 Low Angle Jack Plane. What is not to like? You take the most popular and useful jack plane and bed it at a low angle (12°). This makes the most versatile group of planes even more versatile.

Comes with a 2'' (50mm) wide A2 steel blade which is .175'' (4.5mm) thick. From the box it has a 25° bevel, but it is worth sticking a secondary bevel of 5° on it if working in hardwoods.

One of the factors in making this plane so versatile is that Lie-Nielsen produce a toothed blade for heavy stock removal in difficult grain and a 90° blade for scraping. You can also purchase spare blades to experiment with higher angles if you are battling with some particularly tricky grain.

This is not something new, Stanley produced them many years ago, but this is made by Lie-Nielsen, to Lie-Nielsen standards. If you are only going to own one plane, make this it.

14'' long (355mm).
2'' (50mm) blade bedded at 12°. A2 steel.
Iron body, 4.55lbs. (2kg).''

On sale for £435 on our main site (£320 for the plane and £105 for the toothing blade)
