This 3 volume set of Knight's American Mechanical Dictionaries and the single volume of Knight's New Mechanical Dictionary (Supplement) was reprinted jointly by The Mid-West Tool Collectors Association and The Early American Industries Association October 1979.

It is written elsewhere that "This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it"

Well, gently flicking through the pages, we wouldn't disagree!

This is a very attractive publication. This is one of 600 re-printed in 1979 although the number is not filled in (see photograph).

We have 1 complete sets for sale as of 14th January 2025 (as one has already been snapped up from these Fridays Finds).

The condition can only be described as near perfect. Until Mike removed the cellophane wrapping to look at the pages, these books have not been opened (much like Uncle Alberts wallet) since 1979.

Hundreds of small illustrations of all mechanical things and full descriptions will keep the bookworms amongst you very happy indeed.

The 3 volumes extend to over 2000 pages
The Supplement is approx 800 pages.
