A Clifton No.5 1/2 Jack Plane. This is a mighty jack at 3.1kg and is the largest of jack planes from Clifton. The 5 1/2 is regularly considered the go to plane for people starting out as it really is the most versatile of the bevel-down planes. The name ''jack plane'' comes from ''jack of all trades''. 

• Bedrock design frog allows for maximum contact between frog and plane body, and gives you easier, more precise adjustment of the mouth.
• Blade is cryogenically treated O1 steel, heated to 60-62 Rockwell. Cutter Size: 2 3/8'' (60 mm) and 3mm thick.
• Clifton handplanes now come with a single piece cap iron.
