Hand stitched by Auriou Toolworks, the masters of rasp and riffler making in St. Juery, France.
These are flat bottomed short ironing rasps. The stitched part is 80mm long and 20mm wide.
Stitched on the underside only with a cranked tang for knuckle clearance.
Stitch is 6 which is coarse/medium cut.

2 ¼” edge, an impressive 20” overall with a long handle (7 ½”) & 1 5/8” brass ferrule.
We think the handle and ferrule may not be original, but this doesn’t distract from the overall appeal of this monster.
It has been sharpened and for a chisel that is possibly 125 years old it is in superb condition. No pitting...
